GOUDA-DESIGN

Gouda copies, look-alikes, home painters, fakes or "made to deceive" - Part 13.

Fake Rozenburg vase seen on Marktplaats.nl during January 2011.

An update on more examples of the 'Ram - Colenbrander' fakes that can be seen for sale by several sellers on Marktplaats.nl. All the fakes have the same or very similar backstamp as shown below. It is not known for certain where the fakes originate but suspicions lie with Russia or China. They have been imported by dealers in Holland and Germany. See also details of other examples on previous pages of Gouda Copies and see this new page Colenbrander Fakes.

As stated many times before we do not imply that the sellers had any knowledge they were fakes or made to deceive items. They are shown as examples as we believe it is in every ones interest, including the sellers, to see and learn from them.

Fake jardinière/piédestal seen on Marktplaats.nl during April 2011. Look on many previous pages of Gouda Copies for the same marks, same painter - same old rubbish. If you are bidding on this you are wasting your money!

Quote from a Dutch friend of ours and a leading Gouda expert - "....... and this kind of item is so badly made it's just offensive to even call it junk 'plateel'......."

Simply a repeat of the wording above!

Fake vase and plates seen on Marktplaats.nl during May 2011. Look on many previous pages of Gouda Copies for the same marks, same painter - same old rubbish. If you are bidding on these you are wasting your money! If you see an initial bid for these on Markplaats - don't believe it is genuine - they are put on by the fakers and their cronies!

With thanks to all vigilant collectors and friends from Holland, UK and around the world for their help and sending the pictures.
