  Cornelis Jonker & Son founded
the Het Hert (The Deer) factory in Gouda in 1896. Two years later,
on a site next to it, the Zuid-Holland factory would start. This
piece is thought to have been painted in the Zuid-Holland factory
by Pieter Woerlee. It is believed painters would move between
the two factories. Wonderful blue and white decor 'Old Holland'
on model number 049 which is clearly impressed into the base.
The other impressed figure of an 'underscored 0' or '01' is thought
to be possibly a code for the painter which decor to paint. In
perfect condition, still bright and clear. A great find from
an antiques shop in Warwick, UK. Our grateful thanks to Ron Tasman
  for the markings information.
