Stuart (retired NHS Electrical Engineer) is the Honorary Life President of Sheffield Astronomical Society here in the UK and Kim (retired IT Consultant) is also a past President and Curator of Instruments. Kim is a highly accomplished artist, with a degree course of Fine Art B.A. (Hons). Kim has designed and painted artwork for many people including astronomical related shop signs, astronomical society logos and is a superb painter of astronomical art having won many awards. A painting of Halley's Comet by Kim for the Sheffield Astronomical Society 50th Anniversary hangs in the Mayor's room in Sheffield City Hall. The original logo of Sheffield Astronomical Society was designed by Kim who also designed the logo for the Federation of Astronomical Societies - FAS. Kim also designed the logo and painted the sign for astronomer Rosemary Naylor's (now retired) Earth & Sky shop in Hebden Bridge. |
