Small jug - PZH - circa 1912/13

"Dutch Flag"

From PZH is this early matte green jug. Pieces with the Dutch flag on the backstamp are very rare. The meaning of which is still not fully known. However, it is thought it may have been part of a national campaign to 'Buy Dutch' during the period 1913 - 1914. Not to be confused with Colenbrander pieces which also used the Dutch flag but with his mark. The decor is very much like one of Leen Muller's designs. Sadly the painter did not sign the piece.
