GOUDA-DESIGN

Gouda copies, look-alikes, home workers, fakes or "made to deceive" - Part 5.

Repeated note - "By showing these items from eBay or Marktplaats.nl (and other sites) we do not imply that the sellers had any knowledge they are/were fakes or made to deceive. They are shown as examples as we believe it is in every ones interest to see them."

Yet more Ram Colenbrander fakes. A very badly painted, weird and ugly peacock adorns the first one below! Thanks to Dennis he has found out that this is actually mould 1025 of the Purmerend Wed. Brantjes factory. You can see it in Volume 2 of the Purmerend Catalogue. Quote from one of our friends - "This piece is in the category - how stupid you can be as a faker..."!
See previous Gouda Copies pages for same marks. Both items from Marktplaats in March 2009.

Below seen on eBay in October 2009. Same decor as above.

This fake Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland 'P - decor' vase is a real gem. Described by the collector who spotted it as - "a first class fake!" Non existing date mark. Probably by the same hand as the other bird decors seen in previous Gouda Copies pages. For sale on Marktplaats in March 2009.

Our old friend again with another fake PZH once more. The same painter with the distinctive 'G'. See previous Gouda Copies pictures of his/her work. Seen on Markplaats in March 2009.

Seen on Markplaats in April 2009 - April fool joke perhaps! A pelican (pelikaan) with fake Velsen markings. The item has since been removed from sale after the seller was informed.

With thanks to Joop Nobel, Friggo Visser, Ron Tasman and all other vigilant collectors around the world.
